Erin Kornfeld has a zeal for portraiture. Inspired by photographers such as Shelby Lee Adams and Emmit Gowin, at an early age she was behind the lens. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Photography from Bard College in 2005.
In 2006, Kornfeld won the prestigious Deloitte commission from the National Portrait Gallery in London. The commission is given each year to the best portrait taken by a photographer aged twenty-five or under in the National Portrait Gallery’s Photographic Portrait Prize.
After completing a Master of Arts, Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art (Accredited by University of Manchester) in 2007, Kornfeld has lived in London, New York, and Beijing; and her work has been exhibited in numerous group shows, in the US and internationally.
